it was hot water worked out pretty good had the same stuff dry wall dust as they ran the unit during construction. Not sure how bad yours is i was able to access both sides of the coil.

we used a hotsie once to clean evap coils on trane climatechanger ahu was a dx coil about 35 tons circuits had gas still in them worked out pretty good.
