Thanks for the e-mail and assistance in remedying the problems.
Correction: My Geo unit was installed 12/11 vs 12/12.
Thanks for the reply. I have already rec'd a pair of e-mails from a couple of your W/FI coworkers and they seem genuinely interested in my problem and I have conveyed the info below.
I just hope this isn't a chronic problem that I will have to deal with in the future when I have less warranty.
W/F monitors this site and other forums, so it would be interesting if they weigh in. I wonder why they have not explored aluminum coils, which dominate the automotive radiator market.
Below is W/F's response on another Geo forum:

I read too that there was a geographic relationship with formicary corrosion and N FL was @ the epicenter. I sent an e-mail yesterday to a W/F customer service rep I had been dealing with even...
Thanks for the reply. I hope the replacement coil is an upgraded one and that they do a clean install. The HVAC tech said TXV is the harder of the 2 parts to replace. Didn't W/F have coil problems...
What might have caused my Geo's coil to leak and the TXV to go bad in < 1 yr?
Thanks for the reply and clearing up the confusion.

I agree, it's covering the same surface area.
This is not the response (below) that I expected or wanted to hear b/c the 30 x 28 x 2 air filters are far harder to come by vs the 28 x 30 x 2" air filters.
"I asked our tech service department...
The HVAC Geo contractor also agrees, although no word from Water Furnace.
Thanks for your replies.
The HVAC Geo contractor was over here this AM for an unrelated matter and he said there is no problem w/ installing the filter w/ the pleats running horizontally.

My WaterFurnace Geo requires a 30" L x 28" H x 2" W MERV-11 air filter, but I mistakenly ord 28" x 30" x 2" replacement filters, which means I will have to turn the replacement filter so that the...
Does anyone mfr a stainable wood mechanical closet door frame unit that is designed to minimize the noise from an all-in-one geothermal HVAC unit? I thought about putting a strip of foam insulation...
Thanks for all the replies.
The HVAC contractor is wanting the use Johnson Control components, but WaterFurnace recommends Belimo with their Intellizone control panel and after all your positive...
How does Belimo to compare to other brands e.g., Honeywell, Johnson Control for a residential HVAC zoning installation?
The components apart from the control panel (Intellizone) that comprise a residential HVAC zoning system e.g., damper actuators, damper motors, damper positioners.
I am considering Belimo zoning components w/ WaterFurnace's Intellizone control panel. How does Belimo stack up vs its competitors e.g., Honeywell, Johnson Control?
Does W/F's Intellizone provide all the dampering devices or just the brain panel that controls it?
Would W/F pay the labor warr on a Honeywell accessory?
I re-read my bid proposal from the HVAC contractor and it states, "the warranty will be 1-year on all materials and labor and 10-years on...
Thanks for the reply. Five yrs sure beats Honeywell's 1yr.
I found this quote on the W/F CA web site:
Note: WaterFurnace accessories are covered for the same term as the unit coverage....
Thanks for the replies.
