We have a 23XL that is a back up machine so it sits sometime for months. Back in the summer wouldn't unload one night but that cleared up the next morning. It ran well for a month or so...
The the burned trigger had no output
The SCR's ohm'ed good so I ordered a new trigger board.
Installed it today and the machine purrs like a kitten.

Before I started on the troubleshooting the L3 upper trigger section caught my eye (2nd from the right) in the wide photo.
The other two photos are closeups of the L3 lower and upper trigger...
Yea, thought about that.
No motor attached gets me nothing.
Hopefully something will show its self tomorrow but I wish I had a more clearcut proceedure for testing the SCR's and the trigger...
The motor megged at 2M @ 1000v so I can't blame the motor.
I spent some time checking the starter for grounds, shorts, etc until I called the tech from Seimens as I was driving.
He informed me that...

No loose parts or broken parts in the sss.
No burns or smokey places either.
I did attempt to start it with out the coupling.
It made it's signature "buzz" for like 1/4 of a second and tripped...
I have a 265hp York YS with a solid state starter.
About 3 weeks ago it tripped the 500amp Seimens GFI breaker back at the MDP but not the 400amp breaker on the front of the machine.
That's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm looking for what York states is the permissable rate of oil seal seepage into the catch bottle on a "YS" compressor.
I once heard it was two of the 1-litre bottles full per year.
