Thanks boys, that link helped a lot. I measured the loops and stack height and came up with 1/4 horse. It has eight poles and a stack of 1.6".

Does anyone know how o tell the size of a motor without any nomenclature? I could just take it in but wanted to know your thoughts. It's off an old condenser. I think it's probably a 1/4 horse.

I've used spade bits, hole saws and the ol' drill a bunch of holes method. I like the spade bits. When they get dull I just take them to the tool sharpener to fix them up. For holes in metal I use...

I have a Fluke pro3000. I don't use it often, but when I do it saves a lot of time.

I have Dewalts, Makitas, Craftsman and Milwaukee. I like the Makitas the best. They seem to feel for comfortable, have a longer battery life, and are perfect for me.

I liked the Craftsman's ones, when they we're all made in the USA. Can't go wrong with Klein though.

Ratchet wrenches and a small Craftsman 1/4 kit. The rest are in the truck. I use the ratchet wrenches most often.

I've always had good luck with Klein nut drivers. It's been almost ten years and their still holding up good.
