I think the suggestion of disconnecting it from the network was a good one. If the problem persists then you have proven that it isn’t caused by commands from another device.
And you might take a...
EXACTLY.....
I never really understood why Siemens ever did call it a Unit Conditioner Controller especially when in the manual they say this to describe it......
Quote from manual:

Actually 2051 isn’t a TEC application. It’s a UCC (Unit Conditioner Controller) application.
You don’t seem to have an email address on your profile so if you send a message to the email address...
I work for a small college campus in Southern New England. We are looking for Non-Siemens control companies that would be interested in bidding on a recommissioning project for our Siemens DDC...
Commercial Refrigerated Salad Bar..... The power top on the Sporlan TXV (TEV) was leaking. I replaced the power top and evacuated and recharged the unit. My partener insists that I should have...
Thank you Daramoe... your answer was exactly what I was looking for. We are currently undergoing a Siemens System Upgrade which includes converting our entire system to ethernet. After I posted...
What is the Telnet command string for connecting in terminal mode to an MBC from the Insight Computer?
Yes.... it is an ethernet network.
I have always found it interesting that the key strokes for starting the monitor on a Pre-Apogee panel is PMS. And I have always found satisfaction in the fact the you can cancel PMS simply by...
Sorry Jogas...... My comments were not intended to make light of your struggle. Look at it this way. If you are struggling then you are learning. I bet next time you have to replace a point...
And that’s why you didn’t hear from me....... I just read this entire thread which I found rather entertaining. But then I decided not to reply because ding has already answered the question. I...
Thank you guys for the information..... It was very helpful. It made things a lot easier to deal with knowing that I was tapped into the correct port. What the problem turned out to be was an...
I would use the one we have here..... But the plumbers have put it in un-mentionable places.

Yes I connected into one of those two ports just below the head on the sight glass side. Something must be plugged up..... I’ll check on it tomorrow.
And thank you for the drawing...... ...

I just installed a replacement compressor for a Copeland Discus 2D (semi hermetic) compressor. My question is where to connect the low pressure devices (dual...
The big advantage of using DataMate Advanced is that it has most of the editors and applications that are used in Insight. This makes it fairly easy to edit programs and data bases and trouble shoot...
Looking at your drawing brings some questions to mind. The first one is...... Is the system really in need of a change? Or is perhaps something just a little out of whack?
Your drawing...
You should always keep in mind two of the comments that “phxurs” made. Keep It Simple and use Common Sense. Unfortunately a lot of design engineers today don’t believe in either of those...
As a Service Engineer (DDC Tech) at a rather large University Campus our labor contract gave us a guarantee of at least 4 hours of overtime if we were called in during our off hours. The contract...
Try doing a Google Search on “temperature input to a pc”. I tried it and came with several manufacturers of temperature input devices directly into a pc ........ both, wired and wireless.
Do a Google search on "floor temperature thermostat"
I thought we were talking about pneumatic controls here.
And now I'm just feeling sorry for the Machines........
The most common restrictor sizes used in pneumatic controls are 40 SCIM and 20 SCIM. The 40 SCIM restrictor is used for the sensor/transmitter line of a receiver controller. The 20 SCIM is used for...
The one thing I always use a shielded cable for is communications. That is unless it’s a Cat-5 cable for ethernet, which seems to have it’s own magic without the need for a shield.
I like to ground the shield in the control panel of the terminating controller. Only ground the shield on one end of the cable. In most cases now days field device connections don’t require a...
This is a fairly common problem.... It really makes you appreciate it when you see a newer unit that someone has installed with a 110ac plug at the unit.

I think that all Fan Units, Chillers, Heat Exchangers, ect, ect, (things you would find in a typical HVAC system).... should all be exactly the same and come with pre-configured controllers built...
Your assumption could be right. I would have someone with user account access check your access group and see if you are configured for these points and the new cabinet.
If you could see the...

I tried the Vulcan web site today and it works now. They must have had it down over the this weekend. Thanks for the link.
Thanks for the link Chuke.... I found that one on Google but it didnn't work. And it still doesn't work. But thank you for the effort.
I have three Vulcan Steamers in a commercial kitchen. One of them stopped working which was pretty easy to figure out. Replacement of the main steam solenoid valve got it up and running again. So...
The cabinets (Panels) can be accessed using any dumb terminal emulator on the MMI or MMI/Modem ports. I used to use ProcomPlus but you can also use Hyper Terminal which comes with Windows XP. You...

Well now you had to bring that up. We all had to start learning to write code at some point.
For me it was without the aid of any classes or formal training. It was more like.... here’s the...
Ok you made me laugh out loud but I am resisting writing “LOL” on here. I said “strongly encouraged not to write custom code”. I didn’t say they actually did it. Although where I worked there...
I agree that no two applications are exactly the same. But some of them are pretty close.
For example if you were on a campus where you had several buildings and in some of these buildings you...
I get the humor..... Which is actually a reality.
I am a believer in reusable code. If I have already written code for an application in one building and I have the same application in another...
I'll 3rd that Amen.....
And that's why it's always a good idea to let the IT Dept be in charge of the HVAC control networks. That sounds like some of the problems we had at the last place I worked. Constant battle with...
IF the system has been working good in the past and all of a sudden it isn’t working correctly and nobody has changed anything..... Then it sounds like something broke.
It would be easier to...
I have to admit I am a bit jaded. I have only worked with proprietary systems. When I started working on DDC systems there was no open system protocol. Yes that was a while back. In the twenty...

This is the way I would do it.....

The Insight User's Manual is more than 600 pages. I have never seen a .pdf file for it. Of course that doesn't mean there isn't one but it would be a pretty big file.
It's also important to know if the panel is Apogee or Pre-Apogee. The menus changed quite a bit when Apogee came out.
