I would check the manufacture charging specs. For superheat most of the time they want you to take suction line temp at compressor or at the suction line entering at condensing unit.

I would not recommend them. They are noisy when running. Also I have had a lot of freon leak problems with them. Pay the extra and get a higher end unit. It is worth it in the long run.
