new ac's to charge you just hook up ur gauges and u can charge with out touching the service port a king valve has to be back seat to achieve a reading I believe i dont see them that often
All goodman coils have a r22 piston in it but all their condensing units come with the piston that is to be used with that unit always take the piston off the unit and install in coil
yellow jacket has adapters that they screw you on pricy things
and no because it has been defective from the start i would say after the second board went bad i would have not replaced it the 3rd time till i could figure out why the board was shooting craps
first Id call rheem and say what the heck is the deal here and get some tech support
dont feel bad first time i ran into a king valve i had to call a more experienced tech he laughed and me and informed me it was the way we did it "back in the day" haha

True boxes seem to have an issue with clogged cap tubes I replaced one once that was so clogged it was pulling a vacuum on the suction side pulled the cap tube full of black stuff
i would just charge the unit by calculating SH SC as per manufacturers spec on the info plate or to the standard SH SC if not present on the plate
thats what i was thinking 2 splits on each end of the building 2 3 ton units any idea of heating btu's i was think 100k total out btu so 2 60k 95% furnaces???
