It comes out 2 sides (please see pictures page #2)
24x10 coming out one side,

What is CFM? Would this be sufficient for 5 Ton?

It is vented through bottom, two openings in a base can.
The 5' high return in basement with elbow was to try to balance between 3 floors so that furnace does not take 80-90% from basement?

So the only real issue is condensation pump clogging?
Nothing else that could damage the furnace from shavings being sucked into the intake?

I worked with a HVAC contractor planning the duct work and had the fittings made by him. (I moved a Craftsman house & built a brand new 1400'sq level under. 3200 sq' total heated space)

Well the sharing of that duct is a done real, unfortunately. No option for a 4 th vent to 3rd level... So considering that... Would it be benificial to add a fan maybe variable speed and see if it...

So a fan will not work with a shared duct? How come?
Can you explain how the fan is more about comfort than efficiency? This is a remodel with no building cavity.
One suggestion for the upper...
