Should be manifold, but the supply pressure spec will also be elevated. The only other device on this gas line is a generator which required HTN pressure, so they are looking for a HTN rated tankless...
Looking to find a tankless water heater (Commercial or residential) and boiler (around 300-400k btu) that run on Natural gas pressures in the 8-14" w.c. range.
Most I find are 3.5-8" w.c.

Just inherited a building with about a 200 ton WSHP tower - About 65 heat pumps in the building.
There are boilers to 'reheat' the condenser water, but not sure if we need to winterize the tower...
Thanks again Mike...Everything worked perfect after I updated the Field Assistant.
My next question -
I have three rooftop units feeding ~6 VAVs each. I can tie them all together to...
Cool....Thx! I will give it a shot!
Doing a startup on some VAVs this week, and having trouble with the i-Vu software that came with the VAVs.
I installed everything, and am connecting through the USB dongle.
When I try and...
Thanks, Kontrol!!
I think you're reffering to the Carrier 3v 'VVT', not the BacNet I-vu VAV.
I hated that 3V with the 'linkage coordinator' nonsense. Trane's VariTrac system is sooo...
Should be doing startup soon....Where can I get the 'SpongeBobs'??
Also - McGreevy - Are you saying the daisy-chain has to go in the order of the VAV #'s?
The longest string only has 8...
I see....I will advise and see if they'll do a change order. Thanks! Certainly easier to run it now with everything open...
Ascj - I believe their thought was to have each trunk of VAVs communicate directly to the rooftop that is supplying air to them.
They are not 'that' close to each other either, and there is no...
Thanks for all the help, Wolf, Dallas, and Tleyden.
Yeah, it's coming along, waiting on sparky to get us some power so we can program them.
It won't really be on an open network yet. But we...
We are doing a project with the newer Carreir VAV system 'I-Vu' with BacNet.
On the VAVs there are two dials (as pictured), just wondering if these are for setting up the address.
...
Ok. Got it...That should be easy enough....Big thanks!
After looking at electrical diagrams online for the past hour I look like this --> :gah:
I have a customer that is currently using a return air sensor (thermistor) to control a rooftop unit.
They want to add a thermistor to one room, but also use the return air sensor and 'average'...
Looking for some places you guys recommend for getting a 4" chilled water valve, pneumatic actuator, 150lb 8-bolt flanges, normally closed.
The existing valve is an old Johnson Controls unit,...
Suction pressures. I would imagine that we would see an increase in suction pressures/temperature if the valves were shot. How else would it melt that 176 deg F plug on the suction line?
But we'd see some indication of that by the pressures, no?
Most of the current RPS' pump themselves down at the end of the cooling cycle.
You're on the right track. Let the unit pump down, and then close the service valve near the filter. You'll still...
The unit is not old at all (maybe 5 years)...And these reliefs were not on the compressor, but about 2 feet away on the suction piping. Carrier says the suction one melts at 176 deg F, liquid at 210...
Got a service call on a Carrier condenser that wasn't working. Found the suction meltaway relief valve open, and the entire charge gone.
Condenser fans seem to be working, and everything else...
Two things...Does it have an Economizer?
If so, turn off power, unplug Econo at the board, restore power; See if that changes anything.
If that doesn't help; just hang the sensor with a new...
This probably made some noise...
Air cooled 06e, R22.
It's a single compressor condensing unit for a single air handler.
My tech found a few other surprises...He was changing the suction filter, and found out someone had already taken it out, and...
Looking at a 25 ton replacement compressor - New compressor comes with a spot for one unloader. Existing compressor (which is a replacement, also) has two unloaders (pictured).
Carrier tech says...
I think I worked on a Carrier 25 ton earlier this week...Does it look like this or have similar unloaders?
Who knows...They "only wanted refrigerant". It was about 300lbs low. We filled it today.
Still surges every 20 minutes for a minute or two, but they "only wanted refrigerant" so I didn't touch...
It's time for ALOT of things at this site...Pumps are leaking, tower is rotting, pipes are rusting, and chiller looks like Frankenstein worked on it.
Hope the new owners are prepared, the...
Got a call from a building owner that they had a building they acquired and it has a Carrier chiller with R-11 in it.
Didn't think there were any of them around, and I was confident it was an old...
So it should look like this-
Insulation
\\\\\\\\\\\
Vapor Barrier (8 mil plastic)
\\\\\\\\\\\\
Ceiling Tile
\\\\\\\\\\\\
Conditioned Space
Pulls the air from the plenum, and then through some ductwork back into the plenum (~near the central return for the building system).
Yes. Well, it's open, but the return for this unit is in the room.
Yes, it's the self contained MiniMate 1.5 ton. The humidifier is rated at 2.5 lb/hr.
I would say the surrounding spaces are 72-73 deg F.
The walls are insulated, but likely no vapor barrier...
Water quality should be good, (we even did the 'add a pinch of salt' to the canister) - Liebert says their electrodes should work even with the lower conductivity water. They used to offer a...
We are working on a small space (~450 sq ft) that has a new Liebert 1.5 ton minimate with a factory steam humidifier installed. (No outside air at all)
The area needs to be at about ~40%...
That sounds like you're on the right track. I believe this building used to have two different pressures depending on if it were heating or cooling. Found two separate regulators tied into the old...
Took over a building with some pneumatic VAVs, and found a bunch of these 'Diverting Relays' and some 'Reversing Relays' as well.
Not sure exactly what these do, or how they work...Did a web...
Is this a re-heat VAV? What is the temp/pressure of the air in front of the VAV? What is the discharge air temp at the unit/AHU?
I've had pretty good luck with the VV550's. If it is having a...
That's a big help...Thanks!

We'll have to consult with the architect. They didn't list any special equipment for the surgery area.
The whole office is about 7000 sq ft, and the surgery area is about 600. Not wanting to...
You are thinking way too hard about this...Barometric relief is just a 'doggy door' for air (and it literally looks like a doggy door on Trane units and some others).
If you saw one you'd figure...
One of the buildings we service has a new tenant which does some Lasik eye surgery.
Just trying to figure out if this area would require a HEPA filtered unit, or something special. Or should we...
Yeah...They crap out all the time. Replace the assembly. And when you do this, be sure to clean that mesh screen that is held in place by two of the bolts...If it has been running for a while like...
People look at me funny before I even say a word!
D'oh! Whatever it's called!
lol...That's exactly what I was going to do if no one responded.
Thanks, dad...We'll try the delrin ones and see how they do.
We are doing some air line upgrades (70-80psi), and want to use the polyethylene tubing with compression fittings. However, they offer delrin compression fitting, or brass.
The delrin seem...
One end should have an expansion bearing if the shaft is going to be subject to large temperature swings (i.e. Greater than 25-30 degrees).
A supply fan shaft that is after the heating/cooling...
Not all of them, but when we have replaced compressors the charge we took out was within ounces of what is indicated on the tag.
There is no doubt that these two will end up in court over this and other issues...
