I have heard from a local supplier that you should use a torch to burn off any cotton wood and stuff on the condenser coil and then rinse it with a hose. Is this something new I have never heard of...

absolutely i normally charge 6 hours and it only takes about 3 i have replaced exact same heat exchanger. just make sure u have an 6 inch extension for your drill for the burner bolts on the inside.

In the manual it doesn't tell the distance side by side it just tells from opening to opening is a min. of 12. unless you are vent up through a roof it says the two pipes should be 9 inches apart...
