My air handler in the attic started making a strange noise, sounds like a whining siren type sound, not very loud though. Its just loud enough to be noticed and annoying. It is doing this when not...

is it getting colder than set point??
YES, it is
exact model I'm not sure.
Air Handler: ADP BC- Series
Compressor: Comfort maker 12SEER
The system seems to respond immediately to manual t-stat adjustments, in either direction (warmer or colder). It appears that it never recieves a signal to shut off when the t-stat is satisfied. ...
If you mean the equipment number from the t-stat its a TX 1500 PB.
I don't know if this will help figure out where the problem is but...should the t-stat "click" when it reaches the desired temp.?...
no dehumidify feature and its digital. the current displayed temp. reaches the set temp., but the unit keeps running. often the curret temp. drops below the set temp. and the unit is still running....
What would cause my CAC to run long past the t-stat being satisfied? Its not just the fan either, the compressor is running 30 minutes or longer past the pre-set temp. being reached.
My CAC system is only a year or so old. I rember it working very well last summer, chilling the home if we wanted. This cooling season it seems not to be working as well. It does produce cold air,...
What, if any routine maintenance should be done to a central air system. It is new, my installer offered a annual service contract which I'm not sure if its necessary.
Thanks for your input!
excuse my ignorance.....
What is the difference? How can a thermostat cause damage?
I was looking around online, is the Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 a good choice? Do the remote sensors actually...
I am using a LUX programmable thermostat. The entire CAC system is new, firt cooling season.
also....
Not sure if this is normal either:
I noticed a relatively large amount of water flowing from the outdoor compressor that seems to continuously run.
I am having some trouble with my CAC on my second story. We have two separate systems; one up, and one downstairs.
First: My system seems to run more than expexted, and more than the system...
I found the info on Confortmaker's website, it is a 12 SEER. Thanks for your help!
The indoor unit is an ADP hydro-air unit. Should I be looking for its SEER as well.
The yellow energy guide was removed by the contractor. That is why I want to verify what I received.
The Model is:
Soft Sound 1200+
CAC224AKA5
It is new, just installed. I believe the serial number is printed on the side of the unit with other information, but not the SEER. I just want to make sure that I got the 12 SEER unit I paid for. ...
After our heating system was installed the anti-freeze in the translucent PEX pipes (to air-handler) was visible as a red color. After running the system for a week or so the color has disappeared. ...
They are made by Comfortmaker.
How can I determine, from looking at my condensors, what the SEER rating is?
I realize this is not a DIY forum. My contractor just finished installing the system. I just thought about the insulation, or lack of, today.
Should I insulate PEX pipes from my boiler to hydro-air handlers? One of the PEX lines feeds the attic air-handler.
OK, i see you point. I will try that. Thanks!
However, our main goal is to save some oil! Do you think I would get good results with the t-stat in the mstr bedroom?
It does depend upon the outside weather somewhat...
In the moring (before the A.M. t-stat programming begins) the temperature is often at the set 55. Sometimes a bit above, never below.
We...
How would a return in each room help?
Ou new Hydro-Air (forced hot air & CAC)system is now installed and running. However, I have one small problem. We have a two-floor colonial with all bedrooms upstairs. Each floor is its own zone...
What is considered the norm or the acceptable variable for temperature differences between rooms when using a forced air heating system?
