Thanks for your reply.
I upgraded my thermidistat to the Infinity Control. I have noted much more seamless operation and more precise humidity control. I don't know if it was worth the extra...
Ionic breeze is GARBAGE. Look at consumer reports this month which describes how they DON'T work. Sharper Image that makes the ionic breeze tried to sue and it was overturned. The thing is not worth...
Fun4U:
I didn't realize that, in my zeal to tell you about the Infinity system, that you have a heat pump. I installed a gas furnace.
Nonetheless, the technology is quite similar. In fact,...
Sure you can use it!
It is all true. Every word of it.
United Technologies makes fabulous products. Carrier Infinity is no exception.
I just wish I could decide if I should add a heat...
I can give you personal testimony as someone who installed a system that you are looking at.
We installed a Carrier complete top of the line Infinity including an infinity furnace (58 CVA) and w/...
Re: ACDJR...
should it be disconnected on my Infinity system? My dealer and I cannot find any literature that indicates it should or should not. There IS literature that says it should be...
Latch is set at 95 degrees. Thermisistor comes from the factory hanging straight off the inside access panel with a plastic tie. It remains there now.
It seems to me that it would read a...
Thanks. Good thing you asked about this because I cannot access the service bullitins. It requires a password on the carrier website.

Thanks to everyone that responded to my prior thread.
To clarify: the staging problem with my Infinity control ONLY occurs in cooling mode. Runs in high most of the time in the spring and summer....
What are the operational differences/improvements with the Infinity stat vs the carrier thermidistat?
How does the staging logic work with this stat vs the Thermidistat?
Humidity control...
Does anyone know where I can get a heat recovery unit aka discharge line heat exchanger, desuperheater for use with a straight cool system? I have seen the one made by Trevor Martin and global energy...
That would be a negative, sir. Not navy but my old man was air force. Now he is a civilian SES and works in the pentagon. I have always been fascinated with how things work and I guess I get that...
I can't thank you enough. Nobody seemed to be able to answer this question except you.
Another couple of questions if you don't mind.
What is the difference in system operation with the...
The system is set up to have the stat controlling the staging, not the furnace board. I have a Carrier thermidistat and it is set for two stage operation, two stage heating and two stage...
I hope I am not out of line here, but have you tried the Carrier thermidistat instead of the Infinity Control? It may not be as precise and have all of the bells and whistles, but it works very...
Plain spoken,
You seem to be more knowledgeable than anyone with regards to variable speed equipment.
As such, perhaps you can tell me of the staging algorithms for the Carrier thermidistat...
thanks for your reply. I was wondering if you knew more, If I may query you further.
Is time the ONLY factor in determining staging logic or does "PROGRESS TOWARDS THE SET POINT" count too?

HELP!
I have a Carrier thermidistat and variable speed heating and cooling equipment to match (Carrier 38tdb036 and 58cva070).
My question is--how long does the first stage operate before...
Hmmmh. I just can't figure this out. Perhaps someone can tell me the answer to this mystery. I have a Carrier 2 speed condenser (38TDB) and 2 stage variable speed gas furnace 58cva and a Carrier...
