Based on your costs and the estimate you received from Sears it sounds like you should have the First American company do the install as you would pay less than 20% of what Sears would charge.
Transfirst is a decent credit card processor. It's a virtual terminal, internet based so you can run credit cards without a card swiper anywhere you have internet access. I use it and I like it.
We deal with AHS some and a few of their customers are real cheap, as in don't want to pay anything more than they have to.
Then again others start asking about upgrading to 18 and 19 SEER...

For ten thousand dollars I could have a tech there this weekend to do it, of course payment must be made in advance.

The linesets will be flushed with the appropriate products when the installation is done. If it is sized properly, no leaks and is flushed there is no problem reusing the old lineset.
It's a gas package unit, that's why she doesn't want to have to replace it.
That would make a lot of sense. I guess working 10+ hrs a day the past 14 days has taken its toll on my thinking.

I wasn't clear [that happens sometimes]. I meant that the unit is not hooked up to return duct and is just pulling the return from a closet, as shown from your picture.
I was curious as to why...

I believe you're right...isn't it California Title 24 which mandates the duct is tested and has to be certifed before it will pass inspection?
