Why 448 over 422, Its quite a bit more expensive. I have not worked with either, all our low temp stores are 402a and 507 and one with 407f, the 407f has been a nightmare.

Has any one changed over a low temp rack from hp 80 to a new refrigerant. I am hearing MO 79 is a good option and the price is good. Just payed $ Canadian for hopefully my last 30 lb cylinder. ...

Klein 10-1 is my most used tool. Always on me along with flashlight. If you have to climb in somewhere tight and want to go light, its the only way to travel. :)

Good information but in my opinion you want a 10 year compressor warranty. I see to many 410 a scrolls seized up at 6-8 years. Just my 2 cents.

I agree. Pressures at out door unit mean nothing if you don't know what the fancoil and its contents look like and what its doing.

Is it that when the unit defrosts, which if on "auto defrost" may be every 1/2 hr. at that temp. and then the gas furnace which is your supplemental heat has to finish that call for heat untill set...

as mentioned, 12 tons sounds like alot and also with than much capacity get it heating your domestic hot water.

I have been reading along, this is the first mention of a "suction modulating valve". I was trying to figure how an evap full of refrig in defrost wouldn't just keep raising the suction pressure...

If all the caps job is "to keep crap out", then why replace the cheap plastic ones. Plastic cap will keep crap out as well as brass.

Those are all cool tools but are they not pretty much standard equipment any more.

For "cool" tools we really need to step it up, example; yellow jacket digital gauges, digital hermetic...

I have one on the sprinter I drive. Its great. As mentioned though they are pricey. I think this one was around $1600. I keep a 24' and an 8' footer up there.

I also think you have other problems. 414b may not be the greatest refrigerant but I have seen it do the job just fine. A freezer at 40 F is a long way from fine.
