Guessing at tonnage is not a good idea. I always have an idea in my mind what the btu and tonnage is before I do my load calc. And sometimes i am way off.

never heard of anyone blocking a coils airflow to make it a 5 ton system. You sure it wasn't insulation from the inside of the cased coil?
