Just don't reach down and accidentally unscrew the regular hose from the adapter while connected to a unit. Seen another tech do that, lose 7 lbs of refrigerant and pretty bad frostbite.

Yes it had power. It would try to start and the overload would click.

I can't say why, but it is my understanding it runs off the mainboard. I guess I'll find out when I replace the board.

The start start relay/run cap tested good. The condenser fan motor was not running because of defective mainboard. I believe over time this killed the compressor.

Yes that I did. It came with the new compressor kit, and I would change the filter dryer on any system with a compressor change out.
