My system is a 2.5 ton York Affinity air-air heat pump with electric strips.
At our airflow speed setting, which is the lowest possible, we have a noticable difference in air speed between...
For those interested, it turns out the system was slighly overcharged.
I' ll investigate further to see if it's an error in measurements or not pure refrigerant.
Thanks for your time.
I got this unused one step 28 oz can of r410a from
I measure the can's pressure: 258 psig
I measure the can temperature: 77 F (room...
That is what York recommends as well.
They did not check the valve itself, but the temps while heating.
If your bulb is horizontal, that is exactly where York recommends to install the bulb. Bends are not an issue, that way. It would be near the equalizer line also, on a York coil like mine.
Instructions say it should be installed on a horizontal run of the vapor line, near the equalizer line. If bulb installation is made on a vertical run, the bulb should be located at least 16 inches...
Funny that you mention that. On my old system, the electric furnace was later fitted with a heat pump. Only the installer wired it in such a way that the heat pump would stop if electric heat...
That would be quite surprising, since no heating signal (w1 or w2) from the heat pump is connected to the blower/heat strips. Only the tstat is.
I might have an explanation though, since I didn't...
Alright, let me give you more details as a simple confirmation of normal behaviour is now slowly turning in yet another worry with this new system.
York Affinity matched to a York v/s blower...
Yes a York Affinity has demand defrost.
Isn't a defrost cycle supposed to make the system go into cooling, thus lower the temperature ?
Like I said, temp was rising, system stopped and THEN I...
And also, It was in it`s "hot heat pump" (very low CFM) mode.
Thermostat is a Vision Pro IAQ
And the heat pump was not in defrost since the temperature was rising.
I was checking something near my heat pump when it started heating. I was watching the temp rise when suddenly it stopped. Thermostat was satisfied after 5-10 min.
What surprised me though is...
Assuming that your Luxaire HL5B has the same parts as my York Affinity (really?), I appreciate your comment as it puts me more at ease.
You are then implying that this is a normal sound.
I really hope that it is only a minor problem, given that the system works fine.
This sound cannot be heard outiside standing next to the compressor. When the system starts, the sound doesn't...
I'll try these guys one more time.
I sent an email to the service manager asking him to confirm that the sound I'm hearing from my line set here; http://youtu.be/YjtUfI3HFpI
Since I understand that this is not a forum where DIY subjects are allowed, and that it is read by many people around the world, I should never attempt to service my own unit when there...
I'm fixing it on my own, because I lost confidence in the company. So much so that I'm convinced I'mm doing a better job than they are! So far.
And like I said, I'm not going to quote emails I...
Forget my question. Another thread already answers that same question.
Thanks... I think
You anticipate a screw up?
Any answer on my question?
Here I am in 2012 having bought a brand new top of the line York heat pump installed by "jobbers". (Affinity YZF 16 seer, matched to an MV16C v/s blower)
And yes, I read about the process of...
Thank you guys.
It makes sense that the instructions would be with the coil.
I finally discovered that, contrary to what I said previously, there is indeed suction from the p-trap. I then need to...
Installation booklet is not mentioning it.
I also checked the condensate line to see if there was suction, and there doesn't seem to be. How is it possible?
The reason I ask is because the...
Think you beenhere. I suspected it, but thought I was being paranoid.
As usual you are a very generous and helpful guy.
