I have seen a right angle media air cleaner that would take the place of the elbow on the bottom. It would mount directly to the unit, and have a duct opening on the top. It accomidates a 5"...

How long should it take to hear back on your pro membership request?
A downflow system with no drip shield in the pan could be the problem call your contractor and have him check for water dripping off the coil into the duct.
All the mini-split systems I've installed have flare connections
I would put a v/s blower in my house I love the slow startup instead of the sudden on you get with a conv. motor.
If it fell off a Chevy its worth going back to get, If off a Ford its not going to matter it wont make anything better by going back to get it.
I wouldnt change just the condensor. Either the compressor or a whole system. Most manufacturers wont back their warranty if system is not matched properly.
I cant open a bucket of that stuff without getting it all over me. It works great though alot better than tape. Once it dries it will always be there.
I'd rather walk in the ditch carrying a chevy hubcap than to drive a ford.
A split system are you sure there are no kinks in the line?
I would recommend a mini-split cost more up front but there efficient, quit, and do a great job.

It took me 3 weeks to find out about it.
