Anyone have an idea on this one?

What is the latest software revision to this thermostat? What would the serial number begin with? What four digit date code should it have at the least?
My new system is just about to be finished...

I understand what you're saying and I agree. My guess is that they just don't know how to get it fixed and find this is the easier route compared to repeated repair visits and more time passing.

They repeatedly told me that they didn't know the cause of the problem. If they felt they knew or had knowledge of the software issues you spoke of, I think they should have come out and repaired it....

In other words, the 255+ events of Code 32 are not a sign of a problem, only a software problem that mistakenly records normal operation as a fault but doesn't react and alter or harm...

I don't feel that I've been defensive. Your initial post that mentioned facts being omitted and an offer to dash of the "full story" read as if you were calling me a liar. If that was not your...

Why does it need to die now? You ruin the thread and then ask for it to die? Last time I checked, I began this thread, not you. The thread was last posted in on 12-1-2004. Soundman brought it back up...

MechACC and hvac4u,
Thanks for the ideas, guys. They've been out so many times and assured me they checked everything. If the furnace wasn't going to be replaced, I'd mention those ideas.

I'll accept your apology.
Your offer to inform dash of the rest of the story, whatever that supposedly is, made it seem that you were trying to discredit me. As did your assertion that most of...

Oh, really? What are the real facts? I've yet to hear these despite this being proffered forth twice. The furnace keeps shutting down and losing heat multiple times and despite repeated attempts, the...

Not quite. That's the problem. There is no 'rest' of the story. I've described what's happened to the letter and even listed the codes as they are exactly listed in the control. Not to mention,...

Um, actually, the facts are as I have reported them, to the letter. Everything I've stated is exactly true and how things have happened. I should know. I live here and have dealt with it on a daily...

The Carrier rep and the dealer labeled them as lemons. They gave up. Constant codes that they can't find the source of, despite replacing various parts. I still get the low pressure switch code...

Carrier is replacing the 58 MVP furnace and the Infinity Control FREE of charge as lemons. I couldn't go without heat during this cold winter, so we made due with the existing furnace and multiple...

Thanks for the reply. I have asthma and electronic air cleaners give off ozone. Unfortunately, that won't work for me but thanks for the idea and the offer.
12-01-2004, 09:54 PM
Thanks for the reply, Plain Spoken. I've had the dealer's service manager involved. They are contacting the Carrier rep this week about the repeated Code 32 and this odor issue. Other than the code...

Thanks for the reply. I do have someone like you mentioned coming out, hopefully next week.
The inducer fan housing seal was in fact missing two inches of seal right from the factory. When the...

Were you able to find out any info on that 32-LPS Open code I keep getting?

I have a Carrier 58 MVP furnace (100,000 BTU) and a 2-speed Carrier AC with cased A-coil. I also have the 20" EZ Flex filter underneath it, above the under-slab returns. I've been getting an...

I understand now. The coil box seems to exactly match the width of the furnace. Here's something odd I noticed recently. On the Infinity Control you can check static, as you know. On low heat my...
Thanks for the replies. That was something I wondered about, being a homeowner. When I think of mold, I mistakenly thought it will usually look black or even green, but I didn't realize it could be...

Thanks for the reply, dash. The outdoor unit is the 38TDB 2-stage AC with Puron(4-ton) and the indoor unit is the CD5AXC048021 cased A-coil with a TXV installed. I remember the installer not liking...

UPDATE-OMG, what a nightmare.
Well, a lot has happened in the last month or two. I have the Carrier 100-20 Infinity 58 MVP Furnace and 2-speed AC with cased A coil.
When I was last here, I...
I have a question. Mold and mildew usually have that black appearance I see on the chairs, correct? What are the 'whitish' spots on the chairs?
10-13-2004, 01:40 AM
Thanks for the reply, plain spoken. I was running the furnace before the blower failure. I can't give an exact amount of time, but I would say a week to ten days before. Until the blower failure...
