Yeah, we looked at doing an aquastat or similar boiler control, but of the 6 bids, only one seemed like they had done it before. The ROI for a more efficient boiler just didn't add up for us. We were...

The only problem is that the rebate was specifically for the i-comfort. So I will have to ask the sales guy/project manager if the Lennox rebate covers that.

Hello, we're having a Standard Lennox 83% Hydronic boiler installed for our cast iron radiators today, and in about a month we're getting a central air XC17 and CBX32MV variable speed air handler to...

I know we're not supposed to talk pricing, but it's impossible to get even a frame of reference for how much these things are supposed to cost. So we end up everybody's time because of that.

I seriously doubt I'm going to be able to get that sort of exactness in the estimate. I've been trying to call people for the last 3 months to get a good contractor to do a mod/con estimate but only...

I just had a guy quote me a series 2 for my replacement boiler also after I directly told him I only wanted to look at the mod/con boilers... so far he has not called me back.

Sorry, yes, I mean mini-split, or ductless, anywhere there is not an air handler.

My friend and I are having a debate about these different systems.
Basically central air vs. split system. The layout currently is a single floor house with basement, but eventually will be 2...

Of course, but there is a respectful balance between what you professionals know, and what as a home owner I "think" I need. I may not need to replace the boiler, who knows, but If they're only...

great, thanks, that's what I was looking for! First guy who showed up spent 10 minutes, didn't even look the second floor, didn't reccomend mod/cons. Maybe I'm making it out to be more than it should...

Ok, well, could anyone point me in the right direction? Isn't there a hydronics or wet head forum ? I can't seem to find it anywhere. TIA

Yeah, not Manual D then, it's slant fin copper tubing all over the house. That's why I wanted to get a good estimate.

I didn't see where I could post looking for a contractor. I've learned a lot on these forums, and appreciate the knowledge as a home owner, and with that in mind, looking to get quotes for a mod/con...
