I had the same problem on a trane splite one time and had to change valve to a adjustable one.

Sometime we will put insolation valve in liquid...
Sometime we will put insolation valve in liquid line because of migration. When first stage runs the freon from 2nd. stage will migrate in evap.
Didn't know about it being a code. -

I use to only use acid real strong depending on how dirty coil was. Everybody around here swears it eats the coil up over a period of time. About the only thing here know is non-acid.
