The main problem with digital read outs in the sun is: that to much direct sun will affect many displays and can make them go black/blank.

Keep any display covered or at lest shaded...

What are your pressures, Amp draws, voltage?
All of that can help with the diagnoses. Is there a run or start cap involved and where they checked?

Out in the warm areas I have found that R-420 (which was once RB-276) works better than R-401 or R-409 for the high head issues...
Have changed out a number of refers and POUs without any problems....
