There’s a fair difference between what a cap will do unloaded and loaded. Good example is if you’ve ever had battery issues in your vehicle where it’ll read the proper voltage but not crank up. Same...

I had 1 for a few years and then switched to an ecobee pro 4. Really like that Ecobee.
That’s actually fairly common because carrier and a few other brands use extremely cheap run caps during manufacturing. That’s Amrad will last a good while, it’s all I’ll install.
OP, it sure looks like you don’t have a condensate drain line hooked up. Although the more pressing issue is that the job looks like it’s been hacked in. Lots of bad jojo just in that one picture.

I just had a Trane 2.5 ton split system that I pulled 11lbs out of. Factory charge per data plate was 4.5lbs.
Apparently the landlord had a chuck in a truck go out there a couple years ago to tune...
We had a customer that went through that last year with all the heavy rains we had here in central Texas. He's got a 100 year of home with two of his furnaces and evaps in a crawl space/cemented walk...
I haven't done this, but had a client going through a nasty divorce who's soon to be ex husband would throw the disconnect 3 to 4 times a week.
Problem was the customer worked nights and when...
Underside of the suction line.
Get a no heat call for a new customer. Show up to a Ruud 3 ton HP installed in 2013. Found the unit completely empty of R410. Pump 150psi of nitrogen in it to start the leak search. And I'll be...
I just had a no heat call Friday that had the high limit tripping because the customer shut a few vents off.

This right here. Addressing the airflow/comfort concerns is part of insuring you are getting what you are paying for. Even if all the repairs could not be done at the time of the new install it...
I had a G60 do that to me a few weeks ago. Ended up having to install a new board/Ignitor/wiring kit from Lennox to replace the OEM board. It was a PITA but fixed the problem.

Lots of good advice given. Never stop learning and researching. And you are only as good as your tools. By that I mean buy quality gauges, meters, and test instruments, also learn how to use them....
Milwaukee!!! I use a M12 driver. It's light and plan works. The battery life in it is just outstanding. I'm getting 4-6 weeks, yes weeks, in between charges.

Last thing you should be doing is closing off vents. Sounds like you are in need of a good contractor to inspect/test both your equipment and duct work. Sounds like you have a very unbalanced duct...
I'd be really worried...that's some pretty basic stuff they missed. No telling what other details were overlooked.
This is the right thing to do. Fix the faulty pan under warranty and just eat the cost of the board.
That's one heck of an aftermarket leaf guard! Lol
Sorry no DIY advice can be given.
By any chance did his condenser look like this!!!!

I'd definitely get a 2nd opinion. You need to find a company that is certified in airflow. It could be a plugged/dirty coil, to restrictive return or filter, low refrigerant charge causing the coil...
Ok...so you come here ASKING for 2nd opinions and when given them from people with boots on the ground you chose to respond like this.....MMMKKKAAAYYY
For the record I just had a service call over...
Completely real...sad as it is...
I just did my 3rd today.
Trane was having issues with the blower doors warping under the extreme heat in the attic which causes the unit to shut down. They even offered a replacement kit for it. On your air handler was this...
Lmao. Never a dull moment!
That looks like coaxial for the cable.
Compressor was DOA. I figured it couldn't of run in that position for that long either.
I wasn't the tech that went to this, but a good friend of mine went out on a no cooling call and found this. Ironic thing is according to the data plate it's a 2009 model but surely it couldn't of...
X2. As been said compressors don't usually die they are murdered. I'd definitely wanna find out what killed the compressor before doing the repair.
I hoped they at least kissed you first!
Bigger is not always better.
Just a bit. Of course it didn't help I couldn't give him the diagnosis without laughing.
HOLY CRAP, that's flipping funny! I wonder if he's charging by the hour? Lmao
Had a no cooling call today at a new customers home. I roll up and make contact with the home owner who happens to be a handy man. He tells me that the system has worked fine for the last 7 years...
Get a second opinion from a reputable contractor. If the compressor is toast the tech will be able to show you while he is there. Home warranty companies are infamous for using bottom of the barrel...
This right here. Not worth the risk.
This is how we handle warranties at my company as well. We also give a 30 day on the service call fee as well.
I'd say that he at least gets an A for effort!!! LOL
This right here is how I did it. It shows some initiative and you will get to make contacts that may turn out to be valuable later on down the road.
If you keep the NG orifice in place rather then the LP orifice you will continue to have soothing and poor combustion issues which could lead to more problems. It's better to get a pro out there and...
This is the meter I carry. Its been a great meter and has held up well.
My first heating season, I turned the GV off in an older trane unit during a PM. Low and behold when it was time to kick it back on it would not make the LV connection. Needless to say that was the...
I'm afraid that you are SOL with the little bit of info provided. It could be any number of things. Either way I'd say you need to get a service tech out to diagnose your problem.
It could be any of the above. Has the tech been out while it was on lockout or is he showing up after it's been reset? Some of those intermittent problems can be a PITA to diagnose unless you are in...
This right here.
I use one. It's easier to answer my phone while driving or working. Plus this one actually vibrates when getting a call. Also I can keep the ear buds out until I need to use them.

Panels are reversed. They forced the panels back on and drove a self tapper into the panel to pull it in far enough to depress the door switch.
Had a N/C call at a two story condo. Owner was subletting it out and had just had the old tenants move out. He said the only complaint they had was the unit never cooled right after they replace the...
