That is a good point given the fact that the drop is close to my water heater. I did have it on my old sytem for many years (15) and it never presented a problem, where all still alive, no CO issues....

I'm also curious to know how the furnace knows to use a lower blower speed or a higher one when the condenser is a single stage unit as mine is. Carrier 24ACC Comfort series.

I'm getting quotes for a new furnace and AC system in my house. One guy said he could give me a 16 SEER 2 ton condenser with a 2.5 ton coil. Is this possible with today's units?
