My dealer is in contact with the distributor.
I've turned off the exterior shut-off thermostat and it solved part of the problem. Why? I don't know, because this thing was there to turn the HP off in really cold weather. Now, the HP no longer...
Sometimes +2 flashes On and Off and sometimes it's fixed.
System On +2 means that the HP is running at its higher power.
What does it mean when the +2 indication flashes?
I understand. Thanks for your help. My dealer wants to have my system working as designed, and the tech seems to understand how these machines work. Moreover, he'll be getting help from the...
My WR thermostat allows short/long cycling in AC and Heating. I'll try the longer cycling in Heat.
Dealer's tech doesn't understand how the auxiliary electric heat can prevent the HP from running,...
I'm already working with the installer on this problem. I've printed and given him a copy of this whole discussion, in order to help him solving my problem...
Would you refer me to the website where you found this sequence of operations.
Did you really mean too many cycles? I may be wrong, but I would think "not enough cycles" would make heating overshoot the thermostat's setting, not too many cycles.
I'm impressed. Like I said earlier, eventually it has to get close to 1:1 and it's then no longer economical to use the heat pump, because of wear on the machine. How do I determine at what temp I...
When it gets closer to 1:1 then I guess it's no longer economical, figuring the wear on the machine.
At what temperature should I set the outside shut-off thermostat?
I wonder where these machines can find enough energy to heat a house in -5 Fahrenheit air.
I'm surprised, because I've been told many times that below 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 degrees Celsius) there was no economical advantage in using the heat pump.
It can get quite cold here at night, like -5 Fahrenheit or even less. and I've been told that at these low temperatures, the heatpump only gives 1kw of heat per kw of electricity.
At what temp do you recommend I turn it off?
I have an outdoor thermostat, used for shutting down the heat pump below 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Then it's electric heat only.
I understand that these figures are from the MBE/MBR Installation instructions. This I have.
Mine is a two-stage cooling/heating model, though. My guess: Maybe either figure 28 or 29, on pages 17...
I understand. I'll ask the dealer. Thanks to all for your very kind help.
Thanks. I'll ask my dealer to get it...
This sure looked like it, though:
Is this it:
Then it was probably thrown to the garbage or recycling with the various boxes... I'll ask the dealer for another copy, unless I can find it on the internet.
Does my dealer have this manual?
Is it available on the internet?
Why cool air? If I had two 10kw breakers, and turned one off in warmer winter weather, wouldn't I just have less hot air coming out?
Is there another way of setting the system to use less than the...
Why is the thermostat (set for short cycling) keeping auxiliary heat on (this is not residual heat) while it's been overshooting its set temperature by almost two degrees? This only happens in aux...
Great idea. I'll check with the dealer if I have two breakers, and will have him do this modification, if not.
The fan runs at a very high speed in aux. heat. I'd say it's running faster than when...
