    I use the detachable hood off a PVC rain suit on my testos just to be safe when it is anything worse than a light sprinkling rain. I don't know if it is waterproof but I don't feel like testing it....

    Also if it does start metering reconnect the fan and disconnect the blower motor and watch the coil freeze. If it freezes unevenly it would show where the restriction.
