Al/Al (Microchannel/Novation) Cond. Coil, or Al/Cu?
I'm all for a Chiller Forum as well, if it counts whatsoever.
The accurator for the 38HDF should be at the Condensing Unit.
Do you have the KMC/HDF split, or QNC/HDF split?
You are likely looking at the QNC/HDF split's installation instructions.
Or by being hit with a basketball ;).
Carrier has them on many of their R-410A RTU's & Air-Cooled Chillers now.
From Carrier's N-Coil Installation Manual:
"4. Coils that overhang (wider than furnace) do not require a transition in downflow application. However, a field-supplied furnace shelf should be...
A link to your average WSHP Service Manual:
I'd recommend getting your Post Count up and applying for "Pro...
That would be the Return Air Sensor.
Is that one of the old Multi-Zones?
Nice job, tech!
^ What I don't understand, is that they have R-134a Centrif's in Europe, but have not yet brought them over. What's unfortunate for them, is that on many plan/spec. jobs, they are not allowed to bid...
Where I am from, low ambient operation is quite frequent...
With Carrier/Bryant residential-type condensing units, you have 2 options:
- Cooling to 0F requires a Low Ambient Pressure Switch.

That's how I got taken... was my first month of college in the 'big city', and was unbelievably naive... had 'sucker' written on my forehead. An absolute life lesson I'll never forget.
You are referring to the 38HDL model. Unfortunately, these are now obsolete.
Is this an existing system that needs a replacement condensing unit? Ductless Split?
If you need to...
Souper just kicked my ass haha.
Just saw this now:
Congrats on the new job! If for some reason it doesn't work out, drop me a line.

I have heard that they will no longer be importing 80%-er's into Canada - can anyone else confirm?
Always trust a professional.
Yes, it will work.
That T-stat has the following capabilities:
- Heat pump 2-stage or Hybrid Heat 3-stage heat / 2-stage cooling with humidity control
I just wanted to add that the "5" is referring to 208/230-3-60... (same as the others).
Unfortunately, the RTU-MP controllers are not yet available for field-installation... would make it pretty easy.
Also, I believe this unit is pre-ComfortLink...
EDIT: I see this is an older VAV...

Unreal placement haha. As mentioned, they do have their place if applied correctly.. but by the sounds of it, there wasn't much forethought put into it haha.
Good luck w/ your new split!
