First I have heard of this.
They are commonly spec around here now.
Where do you get the SS hoses?
I love 87V too.
Do you have the clamp attachment? If so do you think its wort it.
Thanks everyone ^^^^
Do you know off hand the specs that Daikin wants for their flares?
I have the spin swage and it pretty good.
The manual for the G5 twin says it is capable of:
20lbs/min push pull
17.5lbs/min direct liquid
0.55lbs/min vapour
I would assume that is ideal conditions
I didnt ever really work on VRF. Do you have to pull large amouts of vapour for some reason?
G5 moves liquid like a champ. Moves vapour pretty much that same as others I have found.
Keep us posted on the reliability of the system.
3rd year apprentices know everything.

Honestly you could offer to work for minimum wage (or maybe free) and just shadow a guy during your off weeks. Old timers often like someone to help get their stuff on the roof. Nothing beast...
I even teach Ph diagrams to entry level guys to just give them an understanding of what happens when you make changes to the system.
I think you could sell a PH diagram app on its own as a stand alone as an option.
Could be moisture/refrigerant being pulled out of the oil.
I would test the gauge on a clean recovery system to determine if there is a problem with the gauge.
You will not have enough knowledge from a 100 hour course to do any side work. I wouldn't trust a 3rd year apprentice to do any side work personally and they would have over 5000 hours in the trade....
Video quit there for me too. The first link in post 1 didnt work for me so I used the link in the quote on the 4th post.
My pants are tight from the Ph diagram still.
Can this run electronics without killing them?
The Ph diagram is the awesome.
Would you be able to add the following to the Ph diagram:
Net Refrigeration Effect
Heat Rejection Ratio
Total Heat Rejected
Constant Quality
Max Flow Rate...
You can buy differential pressure gauges from here if you want

Id call Fluke or maybe JB.
Doug,
Do you still own all the rights to the iDSRA? You could try some crowd funding like Kickstarter or Indigogo.
I had a couple emails (maybe they were PMs or just posts) discussing this with Jim when he was at Imperial working on the I-manifold. I was asking about adding a digital balancing option for the...
Testo 550 manifolds are rated for water (at least they used to be). I wonder if glycol would be OK?
Why do you have a complete lack of presence in Canada, particularly at trade schools?
The I-manifold is at some wholesalers (no I-connect) but the accessories are not in stock making it completely...
What are the LCD lights for on the bottom of the screen?
I cant zoom i to see for some reason.
I'm assuming something to due with sensor range?
Also clean up your Facebook if they have your email address. I always look on facebook.
You are going to be interviewing against 32 pre-apprenticeship kids that just finished a 6 month course or will be finishing in 5 weeks. I suggest taking anything you can get. Do you have any trade...
Think he meant below 0psiG.
I have to get a diploma and eventually a degree.
Good point. ACR can be sold as hard drawn.
Plumbing copper also comes in 4 different grades:
DWV for drainage very thin
M for some heating thin
L general potable water regular (same thickness as ACR i believe)
K potable water...
We used Morrill Motors and never had any problems
Thank you.
How long is the wire to the temp sensor and what size pipe can it fit?
I used it in a store and it is incredible. I just never realized it out performed the H-10pro by that much. The PMG-IR is pretty much a portable version of the Bacharach HGM grocery store monitoring...
Pretty impressive.
H10 pro is rated to detect a leak of 0.006 oz/yr (including 410).
Im not even sure if the PGM-IR is any more sensative. I dont see how it could be.
Ive used it in refrigeration and its actually pretty handy with the ppm. Seems like complete overkill for residential IMO. If the $3500 is burning a hole in your pocket and you dont need anything...
I stored mine out of the case and used them in the rain. I think it had a sun burn spot in the screen when i left it in the 100F sun all afternoon. Tiny spot, still worked properly though.
Testo seems to get a lot of negative durability reviews on here with their digital manifolds but I had a 550 for 2 years and had zero problems. At that price I would buy one for sure.
I love the instruction side of things. I personally find it very rewarding. I also like that I can correct miss-information before it is set in stone in their heads.
Ratchet Bender, Orbital Flare, and Compact Swage are all great tools.
I've always liked the large Ridgid tubing cutters with a plastic wheel. Perfectly square cut and no shavings to clean up.
I like the purge function.
I dont like that the Appion lacks this feature. De minumus releases add up quickly at a trade school with green guys.
Usually refrigeration makes more money with the OT but normally HVAC guys get more home time.
Did they ever release the serial numbers of the effected units; or is going by date code good enough?
I want to say 2013-2014. I believe it was most common with 1.5 - 2.5 ton units (that may be do to smaller passageways getting clogged more easily).
