A good way to find out would be to simply time it with a clock. Although the actual time it takes to recover to the occupied set temp will vary depending on the conditions.

Install an EZ trap. Which is basicly a p-trap that is clear pipe instead of white PVC. Also it is made so that the trap can be accessed and swept out with brush that is supplied with the EZ trap.
