Ya most likely had a winding to winding short, if the compressor was wired incorrectly it would be awhile before it shorted the pump.

I had one intermittently bleed by and it actually wouldn't start until about 15 mins after calling for water.

I've seen 250 and I'll bet anything people around here have seen higher. And for me 50 degrees is a little to close for comfort. Tho it's rare it does and can happen. And it could very well fail...

Temp range is to 300, I wouldn't use it on a discharge line. :.02:

Cool vapor valve is what I called it in my post.
Cool vapor valve is piped into the top of the receiver and uses the gas that accumulated at the top of the receiver for harvest.

Suction pressure way too low for harvest. Will not generate enough heat to shed the ice off the plate. Are you sure it's not a cool vapor valve that you are calling a hot gas valve. If so it will...

Only systems exceeding 50lbs

That EPA limit is only schedualed for commercial systems exceeding 50lbs od refrigerant.

The unit is sized properly , at a mid point average load you are looking at 50 btuh per square foot @ 7000 sq ft gives you 29.16...
