We just had a new system installed for our finished basement a little over 3 weeks ago. The system is a 1.5 ton Trane XR13 heat pump matched up with a TAM4 1.5 air handler....

The question is, should we go ahead and call somebody else, or should we just wait till the company comes in two weeks? Is it still very dangerous even though there is currently no smell??

Thanks for the input. The installers sealed everything up with mastic. Whenever I pull the filter out, the pitch greatly lowers, but once I put it back in, the pitch rises again.

I don't know the exact size if liquid line, but on the estimate it said "3/4 x 3/8 line set".

We never asked about the GAM5. What's the real difference between that and the TAM4?

The contractor didn't recommend variable-speed for our basement due to the little heating/cooling need. If money wasn't a concern, then we would've spent extra for the TAM7.

This is one of the other reasons why we chose the Trane model. Thanks for the input about the demand defrost.
