Three things...

1: Too much elbow greese when tighting those flares. lol

Sounds like your low on refrigerant to me. I would find , fix the leak then check all your pressures. 90 psi head with a flashing sightglass.......

Throw a block of dry ice into the freezer and let that freeze the product. Don't waste your time putting more refrigerant into the system. This way is dummy proof.

Sometimes when your discharge stem is front seated too much your high side guage will go up and down, back seat it all the way then crack it open a hair to get your reading.

I still service alot of the old Hill racks with that set up. those racks need alot of oil bottom line. That was there solution for oil return back in those days.

What is your delta t on your condensor? subcooling value? Is headmaster bypassing hot gas into receiver? Is it wired right overload may be picking up other load somehow?

Remember a receiver has a dip tube in it so LIQ!UID will exit. Who cares whats happening up on top with vapour/liquid.

I love microtherm, but.......... boards are way to pricey. So you have to take that into account when pricing a new job or retrofit. bring down the cost and you'll see more sales.
