We do try to shut down heat pumps at about 40 degrees unless on electric backup with oil at the current $3.20 a gallon oil is not a bad option.

The inverter Bosch can adjust its output to match the airflow of the furnace. When one zone is running you most likely will not move anough air to keep a standard heat pump running.

We install a hard start on most new systems with a txv or zoning.

I think I would just extend it up a few feet and put a 45 degree fitting to blowi it up and away. As ling as it is secired to the wall properly and the furnace can handle the legnth and fittings....

As others have said I would recommend dual fuel heat pump with propane backup for the most cost-effective and efficient system. A two-stage furnace with two stage heat pump would be a good option.

It is most likely out of gas, if pulling down that low the compressor is in great shape. They make funny sounds with no load.

I think most variable speed furnaces have a ramp up profile for humid areas. I could be wrong but maybe a rheem guy could clarify.

Just like when you freeze water as you increase temperature the volume increases also. If you fill your gauge hose with liquid refrigerant and it gets hot it can blow the gauge or the hose.

I still would think since its running in low stage 99% of the time the 80K should be quiet enough. The 60K in low will be much quieter though.
