I used a regular utility knife with a new or sharp blade. Just cut the shape and depth you want and you can pluck it neatly. I used 2 layers of the foam for the nitro setup to get deeper holes.

Sorry for this post. Kind of gotten out of topic.
I posted these pics here some time ago. This one is a smaller tool box where I was able to make more use of the foam.
Thanks guys! I'm pretty happy with it too. Makes me able to organize small tools that can otherwise easily get lost or damaged.
This is where I got it from. You're right, the price is...
I store mine in a tool box, works nice for me. I used to have issues with the bluvac too when I first started using it. Once you're able to work out possible causes of leaks, it is a great tool. One...
I guess it's my chance to show off my tool box again.:) I also got my magnetic hooks from home depot which I keep in my tool box. They're big and strong. Put chain and key ring on one which is good...
I see what you mean. Thanks Gunslinger.
Thanks. Do you also just remove the vacuum gauge after you put the gas in?
Just a quick question on the ending part of the video where Jim cracked the service valve to break the vacuum. If it is a dry unit and you're charging it from a tank, should you just connect the...
This is the free download page from their website, not sure if there are some more. You can actually get them even without any purchase. A lot of very useful guides, worksheets and information from...
:) My main purpose for the box is actually for ease of carrying several tools at once. If I know I'll need to evacuate a system, then the box goes with me. If not, I can just grab the gauge set and...
That's good to know, Mark. I guess that's what you get from buying it cheaper at ebay. It is new though so it's okay.
The new 50 lb. one I bought recently didn't come in a vacuum. I used my stubby to check and it had about 50 psig of nitro on it. Mine didn't come sealed though so I really don't know what happens...
I guess it really depends on what you need to use it for. A 2" thick foam is a bit much for the top tray on the yellow box I used, the same reason I only got the 1-1/8" thick one. The size is...
Thanks guys.:) I think it even looks better in person, looks more professional too. Hopefully will impress the customers as well.
I'm using the Kaizen Foam. You can buy them in 2'x4' pieces, 1-1/8" or 2-1/4" thick. Very easily cut with a sharp knife. Price is not bad either. Got mine from here -...
I think I'm gonna need a case for a camera too as I'm planning to get the Milwaukee tool only kit that comes without a case. I have the batteries for it on my drill already so I don't think I need...
Thanks! Was thinking it may be useful to some.
I got me some free time today and decided to turn an old tool box as my manifold and evacuation tool carry case. It feels good that some of the pricy stuff I bought are protected when I take them...
Just got me the Tek-mate also which I found the best price from the Johnstone, and was glad to find that it came with the upgraded sensor already. I have no problem buying pricy tools but from what...
I think you mean for your manometer, right? :)
Thanks for the advice, penderway. I'm gonna try those.
Also decided to start self studying on this and got me the Manual J abridged edition, don't know if this is a good idea or I rather should have just gotten the full edition right away. But anyway,...
I agree. If I ever get ones, they will be loaded in the vehicle only if there is a need for it. Otherwise, they'll be in the garage or shop.
Just saw from the link that they sell these translucent replacement rubber boots for DC DRSA's now too. Cool :)
...
Don't have a hitch but I'm now realizing how you can make the job easier in different ways just by using the 2 wheeler. Thanks.
I agree that unloading is a lot easier specially with smaller units. I think I understood the method using the 2 wheeler and will give it a try. I just wish I am younger like a lot of you guys are...
Thanks for the link! That is awesome, the kits can indeed make you think of different ways to create your own ramp. I'm ordering one for sure.
I'm thinking that might work too for ac units on a van setup with the proper load capacity hoist and beefed up ceiling installation.
I'm having a hard time visualizing this. It looks...
Just wondering if there's an easy way to load and unload an ac unit to and from the back of the truck or van if you have to do it alone. Found this one on youtube which seems to be a good idea. I...
Old socks work well. They're precut and very absorbent. Those old knee socks that you keep in your closet for years can still be useful at present. :)
My Testo 510 has been serving me well so far.
A lot of good troubleshooting info here. You guys do good work.
that's funny :grin2:
My 2 daughters insisted for me to give them a wish list since they're expecting something nice from me. I don't want them to spend anything for it but they're so persistent I thought of a couple...
That's what I thought it is too from my google image search. It didn't really matter much though as I found it harder to look for that gas valve part by knowing the table's brand name than just by...
I think I found the info I need. Google is still my friend, not always though. Thanks anyway guys.
We have this unit in our kitchen that doesn't have any data plate on it and I'm wondering if someone can help me on this. I think I need to buy a new gas valve for one of the burners. I already...
This is my first Veto bag and I was actually trying to decide between the Tech LC and the XLT (I like the aesthetic upgrades on these bags). When they came out with a free smaller bag offer on ebay...
Just got my Tech-LC today. I'm happy to find out my fieldpiece psychrometer (SRH3) can fit in the pocket with the probe on it. I'm also thinking to get the STA2 for airflow measurement which...
I also have the Testo 510 although we're using the dual input uei manometers in school. They seem nice, feels solid with nice rubber boot and strong back magnet. I kinda like it but I also like how...
Hey Cmstech, whatever works good for you, that's what matters. :)
Got ya. It wasn't clear to me what you meant on your post. Thanks for the suggestion.
Not sure if it makes a difference at all but my Ak900 sensors came hot glued to the velcro and a big portion of the sensor is buried in the glue as you can see from the pics. I'm thinking that is...
I also thought the bar was too long and can be an issue when used in tight spaces, that's why I cut it shorter.
Nice mod mason. We almost have the same set up. My AK900 sensors came with the regular velcro though so I decided to use pvc pipe to make it work better. It has been working great so far and I...
The foam insulation was done just last year. Prior to that, the insulation was either bad or there was none. I had actually used the sprinkler on some exposed metal ducts :o.
The guys scraped...
I agree with you John, we have some ridiculous ductwork setup above the roof.
This is actually the point of my inquiry here. There are a lot of areas where higher than 95F temps are common (including ours) during summer time, then these equipment or systems that are mostly...
They are actually spaced far apart from each other. The closest they could be would be at least 15ft., and they are all rooftop units so surroundings are wide open.
We're having a new...
