What would cause a NAE to show offline unless you start the NCT tool and connect. All works good while NCT is running. When you disconnect or close down NCT, offline she goes.

Finally caught it doing this by shelling into it. Exactly as you stated. Rebooted with network cable out until run light was green. Plugged cable in and life was good.

You have to bring the AI in as an AO, and map to AI. Options tab can only over ride an AO. What a pita... give me an AX over this anyday.
