Working fine now, I was waiting to post an update just in case I had a callback.
Cleaned off the pilot hood and relocated the ground and no problems since. Everything else mentioned checked out fine...
Got your email, thanks for that. I'll start with the pilot hood and work from there, hopefully I can get in there on Monday to get this dealt with.
So pull the hoses off and attach them to my manometer, then pull the two spade connectors off and jumper them? Then just see if it dips below the listed pressure. If it is that, what are you...
I pulled the pilot assembly out and let it run, just to make sure flame was covering the sensor and it was. I did change the sensor with the new one, I will check it again for any cracks. It did come...
Yep that's it I've attached a pic I took earlier.

Working on a Lennox G26Q3-50-1 and I changed the ignition control (model G776RGD-1) and replaced it with a new Honeywell LB-90701C. Previous control was not giving spark for the pilot every time. New...
We were just talking about these the other day, or a homemade version at least. I like the idea of them, but I think the rigidity of it would cause problems attaching it to some units. Actually, I...
I think that is their go to answer, there's a reason why the were low on the consumer reports list for call backs.
We are, we replaced 3 txv's (2 outdoor 1 indoor) and a reversing valve last week. Of course it happens when the coldest temps happen.
It's not just you, that was the third reversing valve this...
I get why you wouldn't want a temp or pressure difference across a drier but how do you check pressure drop across a drier?
This really isn't true, to be in the HVAC (in certain provinces) trade you need your gas technician license and unfortunately that is not an apprentice-able trade. It might be different in BC though,...
Maybe he thinks those shiny new licenses give him experience.
Durham Region here...just about to write the 313d
Nope...just 5 years
I always thought you could get red seal for 313d as long as you got at least 75%
This year was the slowest I've seen, it was getting real bad. It is just starting to turn back around with this nice weather that we're having.
Once companies get busy with all the ac installs they...
The route I took was to go to night school for my G3 instead of the 2 year deal at Durham College.
Luckily after I was done I got hired right away as a helper, 2 years later i was still with the...
You're starting your own business....but your name is HVACnoob.
Exactly how much experience do you have?
I do both where I am....which is good cause my service game isn't the strongest.
We are just a small company though which is why I get to do both.
Yep 30,000 and 2.5 ton
What are the requirements to be a luxaire dealer?
I would tend to think they are becoming extinct, at least in my area (southern Ontario) I cannot get a 1.5 ton 14.5 SEER a/c from my supplier.
I can get it in a 13 SEER but then that isn't...
Yep it is a bad idea, just change them both out and save future hassle. The air handler can stay obviously and really if any component could stay it could be the line set...as long as it was big...
I would suggest that if you're going through the trouble of running an extra wire, run a 5 wire in case you ever decide you want ac.
Is it available for Android phones or just the Iphone?
Like everyone else has stated it probably just isn't hooked up, which means you have no wire connecting your "g" terminals
I would say no, there is no reason why you couldn't install the furnace and ac in the attic before you do the insulation.
I just did this exact thing in Sept. and it went smoothly. Of course all...
Somebody correct me here but wouldn't this happen if the unit was undercharged or had a leak?
Since it was recently installed that's what I would be looking at.
You can try that if you want, but the air flow will usually be bad duct design instead of just an obstruction.
Why are you so adamant about having 2 pipes? Are you making you furnace room smaller and feel you won't be providing enough combustion air for the furnace?
Or, like a customer I had not too long...
Great attachments, I have the day off today so I'll be studying. Thanks
I know that my weakest area is service and it's only because of the electrical and use of a multimeter.
I rely too heavily on asking the boss questions and would like to up my game and become a...
From what I've seen and heard the are not reputable (shady business practices) which probably also means they are not a good company to work for.
Thanks and bookmarked, some of those sale prices are very nice
No not to Myrtle Beach but driving right past it....going more south. Thanks for the offer I will keep it in mind while i'm down there and maybe I can get to MB for a few hours
well i was just looking for specific company names...so then i could check online to get addresses and such
So I live in Canada but will soon be south bound on a road trip to S.C. and was hoping to find some tools to bring back....hopefully at a cheaper price than here.
Obviously I can't buy certain...
I'm working with the student who first told me about it tomorrow so I'll see if he knows anything else and if so I'll post it here
They are telling the people in school now that it will come into effect in 2011. I can't see there being any change to the current holders.
I do, especially now that the refrigerants have changed from r-22 to 410a
Ya I just heard that, maybe we can thin the herd a bit now
Well if you can verify that you've worked 4500 hours doing refrig. you can challenge the exam and pass with a 70% to get your license.
*this should be under copperteeth's last post
I live in Ontario and am just wondering what this one year electrical course is and what can you do when you finish it?
also what school are you taking it at?
I'm in Canada (Toronto area) but converted i'm paying $5.01/gallon.
personal vehicle is a civic so 30 bucks still gets me 3/4 tank...not feeling the pinch yet.
I figured as much....patience is usually the best tool.
Should be on the rating plate of the old motor....1/3 hp or 1/4 hp seem to be standard for most residential furnaces I've seen
Hey, I'm still new here haven't posted very much, but lurk frequently :)
I was called over to my aunt's house cause they had a water leak from there furnace. At first I put on new seals behind the...
I just bought my first bottle of the year and paid $200.00 (Canadian) and just last year in September I bought it for $130.00.
I know it's on it's way out but not for a while yet
