I went to Honeywell web site and their sequencers are rated to work in ambient temps ranging from -20F to 162F.

I have never encountered this problem. I would think that a sequencer would require more than 120 degrees to make the switch but don't know for sure.

I don't think the control compartment can get hot enough to cause the sequencer to remain closed without roasting the whole compartment.
Did you check for 24 volts at the sequencer?

It sounds like the system is a WSHP setup. If it is there is no problem switching from cooling to heating or vice verse any time you want to. This is the beauty of a water source heat pump system....

What does it sound like? If the unit is low on charge it can be noisy a liquid line but I don't know about vibrations. It will be a surging sound like bubbles in the liquid line sounds like.

If you loose water flow during freeze cycle than it can see liquid but I do not see it happening during a harvest cycle.
