If the latest firmware update has not been downloaded to the thermostat I would try that next. I have yet to have an issue with an XL950 thermostat that wasn't solved by installing the latest update.

Its working in heat and in cool your liquid line temp is 5* below outdoor ambient I would lean towards a bad indoor TXV. You're stacking liquid refrigerant in the condensing unit and liquid line.

If the load came out to be between a 3.5 and 4 ton and was in my house I would go with the 4 ton system.
If the budget can handle it I really like the 2 speed systems. -
