Setting a propane tank is next to nothing. Most company's just want a tank rental fee up front. Either way if you go natural gas or LP it will be cheaper than heating with stripheat

X2 on the package unit.
And yes they make high static package units for mobile homes too.
Your standard air handler cannot produce the necessary cfm to cool the house through the existing...
If you go with the goooman/amana you will need every last day of that warranty[emoji16]

Sounds like you need to get a contractor to come out and do a air test and balance on your system. Adding dampers at the trunk line can help balance the air distribution throughout the house.

Wow! Didn't mean to hijack this thread with my earlier comment but it is what it is.
BTW, I'm not a half-a$$er either. I was merely stating facts of this industry. I take my time with each...
The Trane XLi18 units exhaust is not upward. The top in these units makes it discharge horizontally

The height of it may be the issue. It's probably close to 8' tall. I can see that being a problem. Of course I'm exaggerating the height but it is a tall unit

Hard line???? Never heard of that...have them change the capacitor.

Must be nice to be retired or have absolutely nothing else to do all day than to be on your computer[emoji16]
These guys never do all those checks in the real world of service calls...if they did...
Overcharge? Low SH, high SC, low delta T

Call the installing company back out to check it. You don't need these knuckleheads filling your mind with mush[emoji16]
I'm sure their service dept can get you squared away

Do you guys normally let your LP cutout stop the compressor at 0 psi?? I like mine to stop about 10-12 psi.
Also. I agree with the solenoid being bad causing a short cycle. Try giving yourself a...
You may let the smoke out if you do that

Need more info...high/low side pressures, LL temp, SL temp would be helpful

Did you read the installation manual? There should be a section on there about the adaptive recovery feature.
The stat allows the unit to come on prior to your desired time/temp to make sure it's...
The new Honeywell star you installed has an "adaptive intelligent recovery" feature built in. There should be no need for you to set the program to bring the temp down in stages when the stat is...
Thanks guys for all the help. I went back last night due to it being froze over. Upon arrival the unit was completely thawed(30 minutes).
Feeling that my SMAN-3 gauges may be off and not really...
The Line set is 10' long. Pressure drop shouldn't be an issue at that distance.

This mobile home is a 16x80 single wide. The standard duct size on mobile homes is 4x12 from one end to another with the electric furnace sitting directly on top of the 4x12 trunk. Overall there is...
Hey guys! I installed a new Heil N4H348 (4 ton condenser) and a new uncased Mortex coil (with TXV) on a mobile home.
Existing line set is 3/4-3/8 which is undersized from the suggested 7\8...
I use a pan under the unit with a cut-off switch too. It sounds like your drain may have been clogged from the older unit and not the new one. I've had this happen once before. Changed out the...
The louvered cabinet by far is better. It protects the coil from anything. If the cost is close, that should be the deciding factor. JMO
Go with the Trane. You will have less problems and it will last a lot longer for you too.
Sorry to inform you sir (or madam) but if your Gooooman unit hasn't been serviced in a few years, now is the perfect time. I have found that most if not all Goooman package unit heat exchangers...
Just be quick about it!!!:)
It appears that the spiral duct is not reduced after the registers. This will cause low static and make the supply air extremely slow, cold and cause unwanted condensation.
It's hard to tell...
Just like checking a 9v battery. If it don't tingle a little it's bad!!
I'm thinking he's restricted at the new drier. Not sure. He's going back this afternoon, maybe he left something out.
Do you think a bi-flow would blow the desiccant out?? I think they have screens to prevent just that??? IDK??
The extra water in the pan won't go away. The pan is designed to hold some water even after the unit shuts off.
First things first, open all the vents. Just cause you close some don't mean...
He said he put the filter in the discharge line. About a foot away from the compressor. Mufflers in the discharge is what you've been seeing. Not driers!
He definitely said discharge line.
Goodman 5 ton package str-8 air. My colleague changed the compressor out. (pins broke off in molded plug). He said he put a drier in the " discharge" line between the coil and compressor. Now he...
The drain needs to have a ptrap installed. The negative pressure on the drain will cause the air handler to hold water in and when it shuts off the water will rush down the drain. Sometimes...
Love my sman3 gauges!!!
Milwaukee is my choice. The M12 line is awesome! A charged battery lasts for a couple weeks and the drill itself has a battery life display. Makita don't have that.
So you got your universal EPA card.... And no one there or around you mentioned anything about 410-22 conversion??? Sorry, but this trade can't be taught from the yard sale. You need actual training...
So you must be an engineer? Lol
So why did your neighbor put in the last one??
Universal tech in what??
Yes, all of the units with small slabs in them have been leaking. And I haven't been able to get any labor or refer from them either.
Yep!
I can see the unit short cycling at 50 degrees. If its 50 in the house, then that's the temp of the air blowing over the heat exchanger. This low of a temp is likely to cool the chamber down...
A zone system would work fine. When only one zone calls the excess air recirculates through the bypass. This will cause the supply air to drop even lower and help the one zone to satisfy faster. ...
Ditto!!! The sman3 is my first set. No complaints.....yet. :)
They are used to evaporate condensate since they usually don't have open drains
I've had both recips and scrolls have hard starts with or with out TXV's
You need a pro to check it out. Could be a dozen things.....and no, you can't change the plunger in a solenoid. You have to change the whole valve.
How do you know it's not shifting??? Temp difference?? What's your pressures??
And your question is??:)
Are you on Florida?? I thought units on average didn't last that long down there?? 5 to7 years?? I may be wrong
