By the way, if I hadn't mentioned it before, but I did check the code and the largest unit which would fit was 2 1/2 tons needed 36" clearance from neighbor's house. There is about 5 1/2 feet...

I saw on Ask This Old House today a balloon to put up the chimney. Well..so my original idea wasn't so bad.

Thank you to all vets who protect our country and our way of life, except of course for these idiots and the courts who help them.

I just noticed I had not posted this info: On the coldest days I turn off the furnace and use a little electric space heater. By space I mean an area just a little larger than my body. So when...

The lady at HD snagged me Monday and I let her send out a HVAC guy on the condition only that we discuss sizes first. I wrote on...
Where I live it gets cold in the evening almost every hot day. Blowing hot air out one window(that becomes the hottest room in the house) and blowing air in one window helps somewhat. But here we...

My building inspector required proof the vent went outside, the contractor never gave him proof. Thank goodness, because much later I found out it was
1. an unlicensed electrician,
2. did not...
