I have been using a set up similar to this for nearly 15 years. I use the Brute manifold with 3 1/4" hoses and 1 3/8" vacuum line. The set up allows for faster evacuation and you don't have to purge...

The track light were used because the ductwork is behind all that cedar...it wraps completely around the room. Still looks good though.

As for DX falling off, there are very few mfgs today offering DX. What does that tell you?

If the DX ground loops are installed correctly, they are not in contact with dirt! All of my loop installations [pit and trench...

Bob, look into DX Geothermal [www.amgeo.com]. They make residential systems that utilize refrigerant loops versus water loops. The loops are copper, not plastic tubing/pipe and carry a lifetime...

In this situation...no. It was specifically engineered for this with double joists and cuts were made in the strongest part of the span.

ICF and SIPS houses are bad for cutting phone reception, but that steel monster drives cell phones crazy.

You nailed it Mark. The knock out got hung up in the box and dislodged years later. Being a manufactured home, they were real lucky.

The eac failed years ago and it now houses a media filter. The old set up did not have dampers in the system to stop recirculation, but it does now!

LOL! The cell service sucks there anyway. I have to go up to the Sundeck on the roof to get a 1-2 bar signal. Any lower to the ground...FORGET IT!
