Have you seen the humiditrol or something lennox calls it? It is exactly what you describe.
Are you in Arizona? 2200 sqft home with 5/3.5 tons!
Would you explain the reheating comment you made medic? Are we just talking duct heat gain?
Everything you describe says air flow there must be something you aren't seeing restricting air because if you had low static on high fan speed you would be 450-475/ton
It would have to be oversized duct with very low velocity to have .12 total static. I've never seen one.
No way your static is that low. But that aside....how do you normally resolve low SH?
Could you elaborate on what you know to be true on both of those?
Does the BYpass factor alarm you because it's almost 1/2?
Wow I am impressed Brent! I just did my own comparison on one of my new installs (without the probes) and was within 50cfm of the blower chart as well. I am definately impressed.
If you add a filter it must be maintained. All too often it is added and then not replaced regularly enough.
@jim - the app does then take outdoor temp into account when calculating cfm? I ask because I wasn't entering that data lately. It seemed like all it needed was air across and tonnage.
Check suction superheat leaving evap simultaneous too I guess!
I think You may be right but he wasn't testing LRA there....guess my memory has failed me
I hate when that happens
I thought there were guys with oscilloscopes who found peak LRA was less with a start kit
Thank you Jim
Thanks Brent I will love to see those compared to your other airflow tools.
I am impressed you get accurate readings at those kinds of velocities on the 25ton. What fpm was it?
Thanks for the reply medic. So you are comfortable with nameplate tonnage to get within the 10%? Just so I'm clear you would reference the expanded data for conditions and use total btu/hr number for...
My question to Jim was air flow numbers are drastically different with each nominal ton and same air side measurements (as it should) how does one trust this program?
Does the air mix better closer with an air handler ?
Also with all different sort of match ups as far as smaller pumps with bigger coils and more powerful fans vs older systems..how does this...
Lol! I don't think anyone caught this!
I would like to discuss the estimated cfm measurement some more. I'm still trying to figure out how it can know based on air side temp measurement, while playing with the app I see that nominal...
I like us motors formerly Emerson. Seem to do well for me. If they are burning up for you they are not on correct application ....IMHO.Don't get the rescue ...get the 5458. I also will try and not...
I can see it now.....what did you do to get in here?
I put the wrong kind of flex duct laying on the ground! Oh boy that's a federal offense!
Sounds like you have experience the correct problems...there are lots of better motors to use but it is more time consuming to get the right one.
