That's still 363 watts.

If it's pulling 3.3A continuous, wouldn't that be ~726watts? (3.3A x 220V) When the REMC guy was out and crunched the numbers, he estimated it was adding ~$35/month to our bill having the fan run...

Sorry I haven't gotten back with the info/pics you guys requested: we have a family member in poor health and that has been the priority lately. I'll tell you what I know for sure; and try to get...

Had the REMC guy come out and do an energy audit. One thing he suggested was that we stop running the HVAC fan all of the time to lower our monthly power usage. I commented that we have a variable...
I just had a geothermal system put in, in place of the existing propane furnace, within the past couple of months. Only had one electric bill since the system has been in; but its showing about $100...
So with the usage requirements I listed, what size holding tank would be recommended to go with my existing 50gal electric WH?
I'll assume the lines going from the water softner to the HWG, HWG to...
As many of you have seen from some of my other threads, I'm planning on a GSHP system in the very near future. Wanted to get some input as to desuperheater system recommendations for my specific use...

I can tell I'm going to have to take a stand for the NP system if I want it. The previous guy said it really wasn't of any benefit; and the guy this past week basically said its just something...

I have a 200A service. I don't know what is required; but the guy did look at my panel and didn't comment on needing anything upgraded. I'll be sure to clarify with him, though. Thanks for the...

Been reading up on this. Looks like the unit would be self-sustained, even in temps below freezing; and therefore would not need dual fuel (back-up furnace). Is that correct? Any benefit to...

Thoughts on the above?

Old thread; but thought I'd post the results of the load test. All of the windows is definitely a major contributor to the cooling issue; but it looks like a 3 ton unit should still be adequate...

I'm going to have the guy Friday run another manual J just to check for consistancy. Not that I think the other guy did a bad job. He seemed very thorough. I didn't get a hard copy of the load...

Any opinions from the Indy crew about Precision Comfort Systems out of Westfield for retrofit GSHP?
12-19-2011, 06:23 PM
Same dealer for all three quote. They are all two stage, variable speed units. Specs look very similar, just different companies.
BTW, current furnace is 100k BTU. I noticed these GSHP units...

Doing closed loop with 8 vert wells (2 per ton) done to save space over a horiz yard loop. Will have a manifold burried near the house and then the feed/return lines stubbed under the foundation and...

Got a quote for the GSHP system I'm planning to get soon. It had three different prices depending on which unit I go with; so I'd like opinions from the experts which you'd choose and why. I'm...

I've done all of the "normal" stuff to tighten the house. Removed all of the trim from around the doors/windows/base and spray-foamed the gaps, added additional R-30 to the attic (total R-49), and...

Currently have a 4" pleated filter for the LP furnace. I'm going to have a GSHP system put in; so I'll assume something similar is available for those and would go with that.
The house is really...

The quote I got Friday included the following options to add. Any of them worth having?
- PureAir air cleaner
- Blue-Tube UV w/ OST
- Oxine Air Duct Treatment
Also listed is a Honeywell...

Got further clarification from today. The quoted price DOES include trenching or wells (2 wells per ton at 200' each). Doing wells is ~10% more than the loop; but appeals to me more. They can fit...

Could this still be paired with the Bryant Plus 90i furnace and utilize the same control unit (Evolution)? If not, what would a good pairing be with this unit?

I think it ran all night to maintain 65* when it got down to 12* the other night (at least it was running everytime I woke up during the night); but typically only runs for less than 45 minutes at a...

BTW, I'm not saying I think I need a 10 ton geo HP unit with the above statement.
12-15-2011, 05:58 PM
Stupid question... so are you saying a house with a 5 ton furnace (and 120K BTU heat exchanger) would require a 10 ton geo HP to produce the same amount of heat? 60K BTU (geo) x 2 = 120K BTU...
