How do you figure? You mean that running my pump for 10 minutes and getting 100 microns is better than running it for 45 minutes and getting 500 microns? I have to disagree....

500 Microns is how you pull a vacuum, a GOOD tech should know this basic knowledge...

God only knows whats going on there, Some compressor just break internally and seize up.. If its not out on overload replace the compressor..

Ya most of those old green carriers are internally trapped.. Usually there's a sticker, but if faded stick ya finger in there like karl k suggested is the best way to tell...

Shoot some nitrogen in that sucker and bubble everything.. If he is having to add refrigerant every so often, i suspect finding that leak will not be an all day event.
