I have waked up on these making a hellacious screeching due to a bad TXV and have seen damage done.

Might want to replace the TXV while you're at it, seen quite a few issues with them leading to evap and auger problems.

We have laid diamond plate over the floors of older freezers. The newer -40's are spec to have diamond plate installed over the floor panels in the opposite direction of the seams.

It acts like a heat pump, Suction line gets hot during defrost. Condenser coil gets cold....etc.

From experience and others. We also use CF 40, but we do a lot of flushing cascade systems. So, I would think, it would take quite a bit to cause damage.

Yes, hot gas defrost for -40 walk in. Masterbilt systems. And they are rebuildable. We got it from masterbilt after two of the Sporlan's failed on the same unit.

Does that unit have double feed tubes? K-body or Aspera? I have seen very few 404 units restricted.
