I didn't expect to be able to pack it into a suitcase when I was done but I like it. More manufactures should build their air handlers like this.
Thanks for the link.

Has anyone disassembled a Mitsubishi SVZ-KP air handler to fit it in a tight attic access? I have never installed one.
Most one piece air handlers can have the coil, blower, controls and partitions...
E terminal could control a gas furnace. Just make sure E & W2 are not connected together. You don't want the heat pump and gas furnace operating at the same time.
We have sold a few of the weatherguard tops. They look nice but are very expensive for what you are getting. The older Trane weatherguard tops were flat with the louvers on a 90 degree angle which...
I have been using the Smith Quick Braze set up for over 20 years. I only use the small tip and sweat 7/8 line sets with no problems.
Liquid line solenoid valves installed at the air handler are there to prevent refrigerant migration in the off cycle. Most common application is long line length and where the air handler is mounted...

We have been using Acowin with Acotruck mobile work order for 2 years now. We are a two man shop and this has worked very well for us. It's not inexpensive...
We use Acowin and Acotruck by Team management Systems. I would say it does all of what you're looking for and more. I am extremely happy with the mobile work orders (Acotruck). It is substantially...
Well worth the time to go. They are complicated little bastards. Thank goodness they are so reliable.
I use a Dtek and have had very good luck finding leaks but I have had to replace it more than once. I have heard good things about the H10 but never used one.
I was told by my equipment supplier...
Drain Tee Trap 1171916 , ICP part number. It used to come with the furnace. The new ICP furnaces dont use it anymore.

I replaced one of these two winters ago with a cozy floor model. Easy install.
Condensation is forming in the hose. On the pressure switch nipple there is a small vent hole which is probably plugged with dirt. It maybe on the backside of the nipple but use a small piece of wire...
4 hours minimum but I aint starting it in the afternoon.
If it was me I would get another set of Digi-Cools. The reason for me is cuz I love them but the support is second to NONE!
I sent an email complaining about the first velcro temp probe they came...
I started using Acowin with the Acotruck and on call modules since Jan 1 and I love it. No invoices to write out, no paper to push from desk to desk. I'm still learning everything I can do with it...
I see this was a few weeks ago but I too have been a Service Roundtable member on and off for years. Their website is loaded with tons of ideas and marketing material. Its $50 per month and you can...
If the duct work is in good condition and sized properly there is no reason not to reuse it.
A two stage unit is sized the same way as a single stage unit. A four ton single stage is rated at approximately 48,000 btuh and a two stage unit running with both stages would be 48,000 btuh and...
I will go against the grain here and agree with your line of thinking. I do not like to reuse refrigerant even with new tanks. Unless I am going to use a brand new recovery unit also, which isn't...
Back to the original question. Can you just replace the outdoor unit? Of course you can. Is it advisable...NO
my question is where are you located? 90* outside?
I would have to agree with you. The valve will have some markings on it indicating direction of flow.
Living in New England if we waited for the temperature to be in the 70's we will be starting spring checks in June.
If it's a new start up I would wait till its warmer but to do a spring check you...
I have installed a lot of mitsubishi systems, single and Multi head units with very few problems. Go with Mitsubishi. You wont have to question whether you made the right decision.
The motor doesn't know whether its a condenser fan motor or a blower motor, if all the specs are the same it should work fine. The problem you may encounter is condenser fan motors are usually...
This is not acceptable to me! There had to be a better way to run the piping but I can't see your house from here. He apparently does not have any tiewraps to bundle the piping and low voltage wiring...
The majority of indoor coil leaks are in the coil surface area and not on the coil ends. The tubing that is leaking is covered by the coil fins. So pouring soap bubbles on it usually does not yield...
If there is a leak in the indoor coil no amount of bubbles poured on it are likely to show anything. That's my two cents.
it sounds to me like your machine has no refrigerant in it.
The pin selection on the control board tells the motor what cfm range it should be running at depending on what the system is calling for. Ex: fan only, heat pump, emergency heat only. For optimimum...
Kevin, I don't think there was a drier in the system. The 3rd guy added a drier. The 2nd guy should have installed a drier when he recovered and recharged but he was being paid my AHS so he probably...
To me it sounds like you have had service guys who are not familer with heat pumps. The second company seems to be the most experienced. I would call them directly and have them look at it.
Your...
It is an industry wide problem. The two brands I sell both have had problems. I ordered a coil today for a two year old system. This will be the third coil installed. Original system 19 years old no...
If it's a heat pump it should be running. Do you have a gas or oil furnace?
The Heil DX1400 is Heils Mainline unit which is not a builders grade model. I am not familier with Frigidairs builders model but builders grade is usually the cheapest model they have.
You lost refrigerant somewhere as stated by jpsmith so you have a leak, it maybe a big leak or it maybe very small and difficult to find but it can be found. If you have crystals in the line there...
I perfer the Heil/ICP over the Frigidaire/Nordyne but if I think either one would be fine. Oh yea, Heil is not owned by Carrier it is owned by United Technologies which also owns Carrier, it's not...
Someone has added about 19,361 screws to the Pulse furnaces you have been working on.
I haven't worked on hundreds but the dozen I have all have 6 bolts holding the cover on.
Please explain how a dirty air filter could cause a blocked flue switch to trip:confused:
The a-coil should be sitting on a flange or shelf inside the duct work. If the drain got plugged you will have water on the floor. Yes they plug up often if they have a trap. If your coil is mounted...
I have to agree with you. If you know how to braze you could use almost anything that generates enough heat but alot of these guys today think the pipe is supposed to be glowing red.
Thank you, Thats why I ask.
Has anyone used this hole cutter? I need to cut holes for Mitsubishi units in plaster with wood lathes. Does anyone have a better solution?

If each area worked as the contractor discribed your room would only be warm at the floor. You would have to lay down to feel comfortable.:D
Really the velocity of the air coming out of the register...
I would go with the high return if the supplies are in the floor. If the supplies where in the ceiling I would go with the low returns. If cost is a problem go with the floor returns they will work.
My opinion is if you can fit conventional duct work in your house do it. You will have more equipment options plus a much quieter machine. I install a good amount of high v systems but only where...
My heat pump works great in CT. In Alabama heat pumps should sell like hot cakes. Everyone should have a heat pump with a high effiency gas furnace as second stage.
I am extremely happy with my Dtek select. I have the older D-tek and liked that one but was unable to pick up R404 but the new select works great on all refrigerants in my experience.
Yes you should replace the indoor coil also. You are buying a high effiency outdoor unit, you will not achieve anything close if you do not connect it to a high effiency coil. Will it work with the...
