How long are your line set runs to each indoor head?
If they exceed 131 feet total, and your installer didn't add any extra charge, then you are low...
"Precharged" only covers 131 total feet...
Lol...
"given the cost of materials, seems excessive."
Everything that is wrong with the world all wrapped up in one statement...
Daikin doesn't make the K Series any more....
No point in a modulating furnace if you're going to use that stat. Go with the 2 stage furnace and your stat.
The motor in both furnaces is the same.
The only way your furnace will modulate is...
There's really no need to take temperature split measurements on a mini. Daikin minis could be running a temperature split anywhere from 5 to 35 degrees depending on what they are trying to do.

I still don't understand what the problem with this system is...it sounds like you have found and fixed the leaks.
Your gauges really aren't telling you anything because you're measuring nothing...
Too bad Daikin isn't closer....
We have units that cool to -22 right out of the box...we have others that will cool to -40 with a field installed kit...
Ductless is the only way to go for...
If you have an outdoor unit that has a Daikin inverter compressor in it...the ONLY thermostat that will work currently is the CTK04...period...
Did you open up all of the EEV's on the indoor units?
It is Daikin. These are called the Emura.
They only work on the multiport systems right now but will be available for one to one use very soon. (Just waiting to get them rated in one to one)

These are pretty sexy wall units and they fit multi port ductless systems that will give you 100% heating...
Depending on just how far you want to take this, I would highly recommend going to a Daikin Service and Troubleshooting class if you can. After these classes you'll be able to purchase the service...
It's only available to specific dealers at this point. I would look for it in your region in the next year.
Large presence in the south, west and northeast right now, filling in the other areas...
Where did you take your class? If you were at the United Refrigeration in Bridgeview IL. on February 1st....
I taught that class. I'm a Regional Technical Manager for Daikin...
Bridgeview??
Where did you take your class?
That's the newest status light. It glows different colors based on what the unit is doing or if there is an error code. The middle of the circle is the occupancy sensor, it knows when someone is in...
Daikin...4MXS36
4 port system with 3 tons of capacity.
20 amp breaker
Outdoor unit will power all 4 indoor heads so running conduit will only be from outdoor unit to indoor heads.
Ceiling...
I wouldn't even mess with forced air. Give the ductless a chance and you'll forget they are even there. if your load calls for 2 tons of cooling, you could do this with 2 or 3 heads. Daikin just...
I believe Carrier's mini splits are now made by Midea....
You'll see a Daikin manufactured control released in the future. No more Honeywell and Nest is out...
From what I hear we might even buy a controls company too.... :)
Actually we manufacture the scroll style compressor in the 5 ton unit as well....not Copeland
I was in that building 2 weeks ago....
It's effing huge....
2 lines are up and running and we'll be the only company making ductless products in the US once the last line goes in....(2018 ish)
That's all I know...lol
Press release went out about a month ago
Got a new system releasing next year that will run your forced air coil and up to 10 ductless heads on the same outdoor unit...
Can't wait to start getting the specifics on that pig...
The project has grown to upwards of $500 million now. First and foremost, Daikin will be continue to make their forced air systems from this plant (including Goodman and Amana) but will eventually...
Building is already under construction and should be ready to start moving into early 2016....
It's a big ass building, 2.5 mile walk all the way around it....
Should be producing ductless...
An experienced technician could not only replace your circuit board but also solve your "condensation damage" problem as well....
Call another company...I don't think this guy really knows what is...
I've always liked this....
Would you go to Walmart and buy a steak and then take it to a top notch steak house and ask them to cook it for you?
No. You would order the steak at their place,...
Pffft....guys doing things right....what's this world coming to??!
If I am reading the OP correctly....
The return air drop is 20" x 12" and there are 2 supply trunks measuring 8" x 12"
If I am correct in this here's what I can tell you....
Return air drop...
Are the units maintaining temperature?
I'm out of town this week working....my food is on the company. :grin2:
150 PSI for 20 minutes using what type of gauges?? If you're using digital gauges then I can see 20 minutes. If you're not using digital gauges then I would run your PSI up to 200 and walk away for...
All three lines roll off the same line. 12 year part warranties with Daikin along with cheap 12 year labor warranties are offered to a dealer. Its a small push back to 30 years ago as well. If you...
I can trump that with 18 months!!
Da-fook happened to this place??
Forums for profit??
:grin2:
Thank you for insulting every professional member of this website with your ignorance....
I know exactly what your problem is, I've only seen it about 1000 times, I probably would have told you...
As a selling technician, I got this all the time....
It usually boiled down to not comparing apples to apples....
I once had a guy under bid me by more than 2K for the "same" system....
Come...
We wet the pipe in the video only in the interest of time....

There are tons of hvac apps out there that look good.

The tech and his company will handle the warranty.....
You will have to pay labor however for the replacement.....
You can't....unless you're a licensed contractor.....

This pay system is not about honesty.....it's about being a damn good technician....
How many systems do you see in a day that are in perfect working order??
Not if they're honest people......;)
"Honestly, I think that ANY commission on a service tech position is wrong. There should be no bonus tied to repairing a system. It creates an environment that breeds dishonesty."
Creating a...
