Yeah, but flare nuts works great. I use them for installing TXV's and driers if they are being replaced. Just make sure they're good and tight.

if you have a time delay in your unit, then the fan will run for a set number of minutes after the compressor turns off. this is usually done to get more out of the unit. how long the blower will run...

3/4 lbs of refrigerant in 1.5 months??? Sounds like a leak to me. Did the tech made sure that the reed valves on the compressor wasn't leaking due to old age?

Generally speaking, I would go with the 14 SEER. I don't know anything about your house so telling you which furnace to get is useless. More info would be nice :rolleyes:
