i am not sure that dumping the bypass is a good idea but you can limit it by changing the static pressure and if i remember right this is a sort of calculation that trane uses and isn't straight...

depending on how big these units it may be better...
depending on how big these units it may be better to replace them, but if the thing is good size then fix it, it you know you have the leaks spotted then you are talking a half a day or maybe a full...
