I think you are correct. I do my research though before putting in that chimney liner.
It took me a long time to get with the program too as far as technology goes. I know when I was putting in a flue liner on a job I should have taken pictures before hand. It would have saved me a lot...
I would suggest installing a AL29-4C chimney liner. It is designed specifically for furnaces. At least that is what my contractor told me.
I use at least a cord a winter. What has saved me a lot of money on heating has been the chimney liner I put in last fall.
